Why We’re Hiring Freelancers and Part-Timers

XOL is embarking on a highly focused project to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Augmented Reality (AR) into our platform. This is a bold and time-sensitive initiative, and we need experienced professionals to make it happen.

We’re hiring freelancers and part-timers — not full-time employees — and here’s why:

We need expertise, not just hours.
This project requires people who’ve built or contributed to real AI or AR systems. This can’t be done by entry-level recruits or generalists.

We’re realistic about career risk.
Many capable professionals already have jobs. We understand that leaving a stable role for a new company isn’t easy — so we offer flexibility, not pressure.

It’s a well-defined, short-term mission.
The build phase ends by March 2026. This makes it ideal for contributors who want to take part in something meaningful without long-term commitment up front.

It’s a two-way discovery.
As we build, we’ll learn about each other — skills, fit, and vision. After March, there will be full-time roles for those who align with our growth plans, as we expand in Europe and launch new websites under the trademark of XOL.

Why This Matters

XOL (Xtra Ordinary Lifestyle) is reimagining how people discover and buy products for their homes — online and offline. With AI and AR, we’re not just streamlining shopping — we’re rebuilding how product data is created, structured, and presented.

By joining this project, you’ll help:

  • Eliminate redundant processes for vendors
  • Enhance discovery tools for users
  • Bring clarity and quality to how thousands of products are sold

You’ll be working:

  • On a real, funded project
  • With a lean, driven team
  • On technology that solves real problems

We care about quality, ownership, and impact.
If that sounds like your kind of mission — we’d love to hear from you.

Past Opportunities

AI Quality Engineer

The role:

Join our remote team as a part-time QA specialist focused on ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and vendor-readiness of the XOL platform. In this role, you’ll test AI-generated outputs, plugin functionality, and product flows — simulating real-world scenarios vendors may encounter when uploading or managing products. You’ll work closely with developers and prompt engineers to validate fixes, flag inconsistencies, and provide structured, actionable feedback. This role runs from September 2025 to March 2026 with a 6–10 hour weekly commitment, perfect for detail-oriented professionals with experience in web app QA, plugin testing, or AI content validation. Familiarity with bug tracking tools and eCommerce systems is a strong plus.

AI Project Manager

The role:

We’re looking for a highly organised, remote-based project manager to coordinate the full lifecycle of XOL’s AI-powered product enrichment and plugin rollout. You’ll act as the operational lead between developers, prompt engineers, testers, and founders — maintaining structured timelines, running weekly check-ins, updating task boards, and preparing status reports that drive momentum. This role spans September 2025 to March 2026, with a commitment of 8–12 hours per week, ideal for someone with a track record in SaaS or eCommerce plugin projects, strong familiarity with tools like ClickUp, Trello, or Notion, and a clear grasp of agile workflows. Excellent reporting, cross-team communication, and task management are essential. This is a dedicated coordination role — applicants cannot simultaneously apply for other positions within this project.

Technical Writer

The role:

Help keep the XOL AI plugin project organised, accountable, and professionally documented. As our Technical Writer, you’ll create clear milestone reports, structured internal documentation, and cleanly formatted deliverables for both internal teams and external stakeholders (including grant bodies). This role runs from September 2025 to March 2026, with an expected commitment of 6–10 hours per week, fully remote. Ideal candidates will have experience writing for software projects, grants, or compliance, and be confident using tools like Google Docs, Notion, Word, and Excel. You’ll support the Project Manager and developers by translating technical progress into actionable summaries, ensuring all documentation is consistent, complete, and ready to share. Perfect for someone organised, detail-oriented, and fluent in simplifying complex workflows into professional outputs.

Full Stack Developer

The role:

Join XOL’s remote development team to build the core frontend and backend infrastructure powering our AI plugin and vendor integration system. From syncing OpenAI-powered enrichment tools with WooCommerce, to crafting vendor dashboards and export-ready data flows, you’ll write modular, efficient code that solves real problems for real users. This role runs from September 2025 to March 2026, with a weekly commitment of 10–15 hours. You should have solid experience with Laravel or Node.js, frontend skills in React, Vue, or Tailwind, and comfort working with OpenAI APIs, n8n, or similar automation tools. Familiarity with WooCommerce or broader eCommerce platforms is essential. You’ll collaborate closely with the Prompt Engineer, QA, and Project Manager to deliver fast, functional, and maintainable tools. Ideal for developers who take ownership, communicate clearly, and want to build something with lasting impact.

Prompt Engineer & AI Specialist

The role:

We’re seeking a remote AI specialist to design and optimise GPT prompts that power XOL’s core classification and product enrichment engine. You’ll build few-shot examples, refine outputs, and embed prompt logic into real workflows — not just for demos, but for real vendor operations at scale. This role runs from September 2025 to March 2026, with a weekly commitment of 8–12 hours. Ideal candidates will have hands-on experience with GPT-4 or later, familiarity with prompt engineering techniques, and a background in content generation, enrichment, or classification workflows. You’ll collaborate closely with the backend developer, QA tester, and data scientist to shape outputs that are reliable, production-ready, and fully documented. Bonus points if you’ve worked in eCommerce or product taxonomy. This is a great opportunity for someone excited by the operational power of AI and who takes a structured, logic-first approach to prompt design.

Data Analyst & Formatter

The role:

We’re looking for a structured thinker to help prepare raw vendor product data for AI enrichment and marketplace use. In this remote role, you’ll be transforming messy or inconsistent data into clean, mapped, and standardised formats that power the XOL AI plugin. Running from September 2025 to March 2026, this role requires a weekly commitment of 8–12 hours. You should be highly experienced with CSV/JSON/Excel structuring, product taxonomies, and attribute mapping. Familiarity with eCommerce datasets, Python or regex, and formula-based audits is key. You’ll work closely with AI and dev teams to ensure every enriched output is clean, reliable, and consistent — ready to be deployed across vendor dashboards and live listings. Ideal for someone who loves precision, organisation, and solving real-world data problems at scale.

UI/UX Designer

The role:

We’re hiring a remote UI/UX designer to create intuitive, clean, and functional interfaces for XOL’s AI-powered vendor tools. You’ll help shape the layout of our plugin dashboards, classification workflows, and vendor feedback interfaces — ensuring even non-technical users can navigate with ease. Running from September 2025 to March 2026, this role requires 6–10 hours per week. Ideal candidates have a strong portfolio of admin dashboards or SaaS interfaces, solid command of Figma or similar tools, and experience designing components, responsive layouts, and intuitive flows. You’ll work closely with frontend developers and the project team to ensure every design is practical, consistent, and implementation-ready. Perfect for someone who cares as much about usability as they do about polish — and wants their work to go live, not sit in drafts.

IT Systems Engineer

The role:

XOL is seeking a remote IT Systems Engineer to build and manage the infrastructure that powers our Product Data Bank and AI plugin environment. From cloud server setup and DNS routing to backups, monitoring, and security hardening, you’ll ensure our infrastructure is fast, secure, and resilient — with zero reliance on third-party SaaS tools. Running from September 2025 to March 2026, this role requires a 6–10 hour weekly commitment. Candidates must have strong experience with VPS/cloud deployments, Linux server environments, and tools like Docker, UFW, NGINX, and automated monitoring. You’ll collaborate with backend developers and the project team to manage environments that support internal APIs, vendor syncs, and plugin updates. Perfect for someone with a DevOps mindset who values clear documentation, scalable systems, and dependable performance in high-frequency data environments.
